Base Village Metropolitan District No. 2
The Base Valley Community is located in Snowmass, Colorado and is comprised of condos located across approximately 30 acres of residentially zoned land.
Base Village Metropolitan District No. 2 (District), a quasi-municipal corporation and political subdivision of the State of Colorado, was organized in December 2004, and is governed pursuant to provisions of the Colorado Special District Act (Title 32). The District operates under a service plan approved by the Town of Snowmass Village (Town) on September 20, 2004 and amended and restated with Town approval on October 17, 2006. The District was established to subsidize the Developer's costs to construct the streets, sewer, water, storm drainage, traffic and safety controls and park and recreation facilities serving approximately 30 acres of residential development located by and between Wood Road and Carriage Way. All public facilities constructed by the Developer were turned over to the Town or other public entities other than the District. The District owns no public facilities.
The Base Village Community
The District's service area is located in Pitkin County, Colorado entirely within the boundaries of the Town and is comprised of approximately 30 acres of property comprised of (1) the Base Village Development (19 acres), (2) non-developable wetlands owned by the Town (9 acres) and (3) a 1.9-acre non-contiguous, undeveloped parcel located several hundred feet west of the Base Village Development adjacent to the Fanny Hill ski run. The general boundaries of the District are contiguous with Brush Road to the north, the Enclave to the south, the Faraway Subdivision to the east and Lichenhearth and unplatted land to the west.

Sky Cab Gondolas
The Sky Cab is a free gondola that is located at the base of the Snowmass Ski Resort. The gondola travels a short distance between the base area and the Snowmass Village Mall. The Fanny Hill ski trail runs below the gondola, and vacation condominiums line the side of the trail to the north.Downloading is allowed for foot passengers who want to get to the lower section of Snowmass Village. No lift ticket is required for skiers or foot passengers to ride the gondola.The Sky Cab and trails are operated and maintained by the Town of Snowmass.
Board Meeting Calender
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that a special meeting of the Board of Directors of Base Village Metropolitan District No. 2 of the County of Pitkin, State of Colorado, shall be held on Thursday October 29, 2026 at 9:00am MST. The online video conference site will be held at the following online location: https://www.gotomeet.me/Wolfersberger.
At this meeting, it is anticipated that the Board will make a final determination to issue and refund general obligation indebtedness. Specifically, the District will consider adoption of a resolution authorizing the issuance of Limited Tax General Obligation Refunding Bonds, Series 2026 in the principal amount not to exceed $48,500,000 for the purpose of refunding the District's existing general obligation indebtedness and reimbursing certain litigation and settlement expenses related to reducing the refunding obligation. The Board will also take up such other business as may be before the Board. The meeting is open to the public, and the agenda for the meeting is attached hereto.
Pursuant to the provisions of the Supplemental Public Securities Act, one or more members of the Board may participate in this meeting and may vote on the foregoing matters through the use of a conference telephone or other telecommunications device.
